\n Are you an experienced Design & Technology Technician looking for your next long-term opportunity?We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable DT Technician to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Batley. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting outstanding teaching and learning within the Design & Technology department.The successful candidate must have recent experience working as a DT Technician within a UK secondary school, having undertaken a similar role within the last two years.
\n Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons.
  • \n
  • Maintain workshops and specialist teaching areas to a high standard.
  • \n
  • Support teachers and students across a range of DT disciplines, including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering and Graphics.
  • \n
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and stored safely.
  • \n
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and organisation of resources.
  • \n
  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery and equipment.
  • \n
  • Support the implementation of health and safety procedures within the department.
  • \n
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with current health and safety regulations.
  • \n
  • Provide technical support for practical demonstrations and project work.
  • \n

Essential Requirements? Recent experience working as a DT Technician in a UK secondary school within the last two years.? Strong knowledge of workshop practices, machinery and DT equipment.? Understanding of current health and safety legislation relevant to Design & Technology departments.? Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.? Excellent organisational and communication skills.? Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

  • Relevant technical qualifications.

  • First Aid qualification.
