IT Infrastructure Engineer Permanent

A financial services provider is looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team.

As an IT infrastructure Engineer, you will help to provide second and third-line technical support activities to the business, whilst being actively involved in the delivery of an extensive portfolio of IT infrastructure projects.

IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - DUTIES

The role will include the following duties and responsibilities:
*Providing support to non-technical staff members
*Resolving support issues and service requests in the incident tracking system
*Responding to alerts including Testing, Debugging and Troubleshooting and recording information on the nature of issues encountered
*Providing technical insight and support to a wide range of infrastructure projects
*Documenting and following test plans
*Creating and maintaining server builds, configuration, and provisioning
*The role will be part of an on-call rota, including cover at weekends and bank holidays where required (with weekend/bank holiday work distributed fairly across the team with shift swaps with other IT support staff available).

IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

We are looking for someone with a background in up to third line IT Support and at least 3 years' overall commercial experience as a support or infrastructure engineer, and an understanding of most of the following:
*Ability to work under pressure and use initiative
*Interpersonal and communication skills
*Understanding of infrastructure security principals
*Understanding of ITIL concepts
*Technical skills in a wide range of technologies to include the following:
Windows 10
Windows Server
Hyper-V / VMware
AD, Group Policies, DHCP, DNS
SCCM
Telephony (Mitel)
Server and client hardware (HP)
Switch/Wifi Management (Cisco/Meraki)
Firewall Management
Printers and Scanners
Back-end (Veeam, antivirus)
General troubleshooting
