Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Surveyor to join our fast-expanding building preservation company.

As demand for our services continues to grow, we're investing in our surveying team and seeking an experienced professional who can help drive the next stage of our growth.
For decades, we've built our reputation on delivering accurate diagnoses, honest advice and outstanding results for homeowners, landlords, managing agents and commercial clients.
The Opportunity
The scope of this role encompasses conducting 2-3 comprehensive and varied surveys daily, including full damp investigations, timber surveys, wall tie assessments, and pre-purchase damp & timber inspections.
You'll conduct detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties, diagnose damp, timber and moisture-related issues, produce professional reports and quotations, and provide clients with practical, technically robust solutions.
You'll have the support of an experienced operations team, allowing you to focus on what you do best: surveying, advising clients and converting recommendations into instructed works.
We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong commercial awareness and who enjoys building trust with customers through honest, detailed and professional advice.
Responsibilities:
- Travelling to survey appointments independently
- Covering South England (Sussex, Surrey, Kent, London)
- Prepare technical reports and drawings
- Use of CRM system
- Resolve customer queries in a timely manner
- Self-employed or employed basis
Position Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Damp Surveyor, Damp & Timber Surveyor, Building Surveyor or Property Surveyor
- Strong understanding of building pathology, damp diagnosis and timber preservation
- Experience producing professional survey reports and specifications
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills (Both verbal and written)
- A proven ability to convert survey opportunities into instructed works
- The ability to work independently
- A full, clean UK driving licence
Ideally, you'll also hold industry-recognised qualifications such as:
- CSTDB
- CSRT
- CSSW
- PCA-related qualifications
Other organisations may call this role Damp and Timber Surveyor, Building Surveyor, Property Surveyor, Damp Surveyor, Timber Surveyor, Senior Building Surveyor, or Residential Surveyor.
Why Apply For This Role?
At Insitu, we've invested heavily in our systems, operational support and reputation so our surveyors can spend more time surveying, advising clients and delivering results, and less time dealing with unnecessary administration.
