Senior Land Manager

Our client, a house builder based in West Yorkshire is looking for further support for their Land Management department in the form of a Senior Land Manager to join them on a permanent basis.


Job Purpose

*Take an all-round role in establishing the viability of projects working together with the technical and commercial teams
*Maintain relationships with HCA, land agents, local authorities, public landowners and any other key stakeholders
*Engage in internal and external meeting to fulfil the needs and requirements of the post
*Support the wider Business Development function through things such as meetings, events, corporate dinners, conferences, seminars
*To act as an ambassador of the business to clients and partners at all levels of interaction
*Be a positive and proactive team member
*To develop and sustain a strong regional presence and network

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to proactively identify and develop opportunities while keeping a strong presence within the public sector within the North East. They will also be expected to;

*Identify and undertake development opportunities and measure their suitability
*Monitor Local Authority Planning and Housing records for future opportunities
*Help with the preparation of land appraisals
*Work closely with external partners and with the technical and commercial departments regarding mix costs and suitability

The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional from the development, valuation or house building sector. Experience within the north east the land manager will ideally have a strong network of contacts within the land industry and the public sector organisations.

*A strong and demonstrable track record of delivering land opportunities for residential development is essential
*An understanding of the affordable housing market and good contacts within the RP sector
*An ability to work well as team, drive, and determination are essential attributes
*An understanding of the HCA funding and IMS is desirable
